Dear Parents of Track and Field Athletes,

Welcome to the Irvine High School Track and Field Season for 2011. There will be a mandatory meeting on Tuesday December 14th, from 7:00 until 8:00 in the Humanities Large Group room (HLG). At this meeting we will discuss the upcoming track season and the 32nd Asics\Irvine Track and Field Invitational, March 11th and 12th, sponsored by IHS Track & Field.

At this meeting we will be forming parent committees for the upcoming track season. The List below is the jobs for the 11th and 12th track meet at Irvine High School. Those committees will include


• Clerk of the Course-INV
• Field Event Check In-INV
• Ticket Sales-INV
• Awards-INV
• Snack Bar-INV
• Gate Entry-INV
• T-shirts-INV
• Finish Line for all home track meets!
• Long Jump/ Triple Jump
• High Jump
• Discus
• Shot Put


Attendance is mandatory for all parents of athletes participating in the 2011 track season. Every parent is expected to contribute to the invitational or a home track meet (5 total home meets this season) the upcoming season.

As you can see, we need every parent to work to fill these positions. We welcome the assistance from moms, dad, grandparents, siblings of athletes, or friends of the family. It is expected that every family volunteer to work a shift. There will be experienced people coordinating each event and training you if you are unfamiliar with the duties of the job.

We know that this is a lot to ask of busy families, but your support is crucial to the success of the IHS track program.
