Important “Invitational” Information
This year we are proud to introduce a Brand New Track and a sponsorship from Asics! During the summer of 2009, the new was completely re-surfaced for the first time in over a decade!!! Come out and be part of Irvine Inv History with the beautifully redone Track!

Meet Information for 2010 Irvine Invitational
The 2010 Irvine Track and Field Invitational will feature both a Friday and Saturday meet. The Friday meet will feature small schools limited to 15. Saturday’s meet will remain a regular invitational limited to 30 schools. Schools can apply to compete Friday or Saturday.

Meet Entry: Meet entry will done through www.episports.com. You will have until March 4th at 11:59 pm to complete your entries. Please note the early Deadline!
• Substitutions are o.k. if you enter a name where an athlete will compete or NO spot will be available for your team.
• Each Team will be allowed up to 2 entries per event per level excluding relays.
• There will be no name changes the day of the meet at the Clerk!
• Please fax over a contract to secure your teams spot at the meet ASAP!

Divisions: Boys F/S & Varsity, Girls F/S & Varsity
Entry Fee: $125 Per Division, or a max of 450 dollars for all four levels

Jumping and Throwing Events—For the shot put, discus, Long Jump and Triple Jump each athlete F/S will receive three (3) jumps or throws. In the Varsity, the final 9 competitors will receive an additional (3) jumps or throws.

Order of Events—The Order of Events is enclosed and will aid planning of entries. We run ahead of schedule whenever possible.

Athletes Admission—Athletes will have their hand stamped at the Athletes check-in gate located near the Snack Bar Building. For admission to the stadium track athletes must be wearing their uniform.
Awards-
• On Saturday medals will be given to the first 6 places in individual events and for the first 3 places in the relay events. For Friday, the first 3 places and 2 relays will medal.
• Scoring will be for the first 8 places in each event.
• Awards may be picked up from the in field area at the end of the meet. Only Coaches will be allowed to pick them up.
• The meet management will give an “Athlete of the Meet” to the boy and girl as well as plaques for the top 3 teams on the Varsity Level. At the F/S level we will have plaques for the top 2 teams for boys and girls. On Friday the top 2 teams at each level will receive a plaques

Concession Stand—We will have a full concession stand

Spikes—Spikes must be 3/16” or smaller. Additional spikes will be available for sale at the table near the entrance to the stadium. The Clerk of the Course and the Starters will be checking for proper spikes.

T-Shirts—T-Shirts will be available for sale for 12 dollars!
Programs—Programs will be available for sale for spectators at the entrance of the stadium. It will include the Order of Events, the names of athletes that are competing in each heat and event, and the Irvine Invitational records for each event.

Athletic Trainer—We will have several trainers on site and available for all athletes. The trainer will be set up on the infield toward the scoreboard side under a canopy. Make sure that you bring training supplies with you for your athletes.

Track and Infield—Only those athletes that are participating may be on the infield or on the track area. Weight coaches may be in the shot put area while observing their athletes. Pole vault coaches will be allowed in the pole vault area! Please monitor your athletes throughout the day. This year wristbands will be given to PV coaches needing to enter the field.

Canopies—Canopies are allowed on the grass area near the scoreboard and on the visitor’s side of the stadium. Canopies will NOT be allowed on the press box side of the stadium.

Coaches Meeting—We will have a brief coaches meeting at 7:30 a.m., in the infield. Please make sure that each boy’s team and each girl’s team is represented at this meeting.
